Improved removal performance of large medium-sized molecules

The FDY-series was developed for applications that require an extended sieving coefficient profile.
With these dialyzers, removal of low-molecular-weight proteins and middle to large-molecular weight substance is high.

Optional endotoxin-retentive performance

Polyester polymer alloy (PEPA) membrane is synthetic polymer membrane and consists of two polymers –polyethersulfone (PES) and polyarylate (PAR).

PEPA membrane utilizes a polymer blend technology and creates a multicomponent polymer with strong points of each polymer.

The specially developed asymmetric 3-layer structure of the PEPA® – membrane provides protection against endotoxins and their fragments.

[2] Main body: porous layer; mechanical strength

[3] Blood side: skin layer; solute separation

No PVP elution

In FD series, the appropriate pore size of PEPA® membrane can be controlled easily by a mixture ratio of two polymers, so the use of a hydrophilizing agent is low as necessary for hydrophilization purpose only.

With this optimum hydrophilization technology, there is no PVP elution in the FD series.

Optimal follow fibers design

The optimized inner diameter of the follow fibers ensures a low blood side pressure drop,

and the membrane thickness of 30 μm provides good diffusion properties.
